Mechanical Design Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a Contract with a client in Mason, OH. Candidates must have strong capability in leading mechanical design efforts for complex conveyor MHE systems using advanced CAD tools.

Rate Range: $40/hour to $42/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Mechanical Design Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Leading mechanical design activities from concept through delivery to support complex conveyor MHE systems.

• Collaborating with cross‑functional engineering teams to define requirements and translate them into detailed specifications.

• Designing and developing robust mechanical components while ensuring alignment with performance, safety, and reliability standards.

• Performing mechanical analyses, simulations, and modelling to validate designs and reduce technical risk.

• Mentoring junior engineers by providing technical guidance and supporting their development.

• Staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance design quality.

Required Qualifications:

• Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, or a related STEM discipline.

• Candidate will have 1+ years of mechanical design and development experience.

• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and mechanical analysis or simulation tools to support robust design validation.

• Design and deliver mechanical solutions for conveyor MHE systems while collaborating across engineering teams.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $42.00 per hour
