We are looking for a detail-oriented Production Planner to join our team in Blue Ash, Ohio. This long-term contract position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the manufacturing industry by ensuring seamless production scheduling and material procurement. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize supply chain processes and maintain production efficiency.
Responsibilities:• Create and modify purchase orders and shop work orders to align with production schedules.
• Communicate production concerns effectively to relevant departments, suppliers, and stakeholders.
• Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on capacity constraints and customer requirements.
• Share forecasted needs with subcontracted suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
• Evaluate and report supplier performance to drive continuous improvement in the supply chain.
• Resolve quality, delivery, or cost issues by collaborating with suppliers, engineering, and strategic sourcing teams.
• Maintain departmental visual boards and implement 5S practices to foster organization.
• Work with value stream, commodity management, manufacturing, and engineering teams to prioritize production needs.
• Plan materials proactively to support resourcing and outsourcing projects, ensuring uninterrupted product flow.
• Participate in value stream mapping and Kaizen events to identify and eliminate waste while enhancing safety, quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.• Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or production planning.
• Proficiency in purchasing activities, including material procurement and supplier management.
• Familiarity with purchasing strategies and functions within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and record maintenance.
• Ability to develop and communicate production plans effectively.
• Experience in evaluating supplier performance and implementing improvement strategies.
• Knowledge of 5S practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong organizational and communication skills to collaborate across departments and suppliers.
