Position Summary
The Director of Sales is a senior leadership role responsible for driving order intake, revenue growth, and market expansion for Siebtechnik Tema, Inc. in the United States and Canada. This position leads the sales organization, sets strategic direction, and ensures the delivery of tailored solutions to customers in the mining, metals, and process machinery sectors. The Director of Sales will build and mentor a high-performing team, foster key client relationships, and collaborate cross-functionally to achieve ambitious business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Vision
• Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies aligned with Siebtechnik Tema’s business goals, including market expansion, new product launches, and competitive positioning.
• Set a clear vision for the sales organization, inspire the team, and drive innovation in sales processes and customer engagement.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities through engineering firms, OEM partnerships, and end-user accounts.
Team Development & Performance Management
• Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team; foster a culture of accountability, technical competence, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
• Set clear performance standards (KPIs), including sales targets, conversion rates, pipeline management, and customer retention metrics.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, provide coaching, and implement training programs to enhance team skills.
Customer & Market Focus
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, distributors, and OEM partners.
• Understand customer needs and deliver tailored solutions that maximize value.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform product development and sales strategy.
Sales Execution & Revenue Growth
• Own the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to closing, including technical sales presentations and contract negotiations.
• Achieve or exceed annual revenue and order intake targets; prepare accurate sales forecasts, budgets, pipeline updates, and reports for senior leadership.
• Ensure effective use of CRM and ERP systems for sales tracking and reporting.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and service teams to ensure customer requirements are met and solutions are delivered effectively.
• Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to the executive team, including insights on market opportunities and risks.
Professional Development & Industry Engagement
• Participate in industry conferences, trade shows, and professional development programs to stay current with best practices and emerging trends.
• Champion a culture of technical excellence, mentorship and peer learning within the sales team.
Qualifications & Attributes
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Process) or related field; MBA or equivalent business experience preferred.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in industrial equipment sales, with proven success in the mining, metals, chemicals, food, or process machinery sectors. At least three years of leadership experience with a strong preference for leadership of a sales team.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, process engineering, and industrial applications.
• Experience in chemical processing, particle sizing/classification, solid-liquid separation, drying, vibratory screening/grading, and sampling systems for quality control (highly preferred).
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
