ArcelorMittal Tubular Products North America is looking for a Head of Human Resources. To be successful in this role you should provide strong leadership and development for our Human Resources team.

JOB SUMMARY

The Head of Human Resources for ArcelorMittal Tubular Products North America (AMTP North America) is a key member of the leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO. This role is responsible for defining and executing the HR strategy across North American operations and ensuring alignment with global corporate objectives. The role will oversee the full scope of HR functions, including talent management, organizational development, compensation and benefits, labor relations, and compliance. Local HR teams across AMTP North America units will have a functional (dotted line) reporting relationship to this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Champion the integration of health and safety principles into every stage of the employee lifecycle, supporting the company’s “Believe in Zero” safety culture.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the business vision and priorities of Tubular Products North America.
  • Contribute actively to the leadership team’s strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Provide direction and development to local HR teams across all AMTP units.
  • Foster collaboration and consistency in HR practices across sites.
  • Support HR and the business in managing talent acquisition, leadership development, succession planning, performance management, compensation, and benefit activities.
  • Ensure the development and implementation of attraction and retention programs, remuneration and benefits policies, mobility, careers and recognition methods.
  • Support optimal organizational design and drive change management initiatives to enhance workforce productivity and capability.
  • Promote a fair, inclusive, and engaging work environment.
  • Provide coaching and support to managers and employees in resolving conflicts and improving performance.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations, including CSRD, SOX, FMLA, ADA, NLRB, and others.
  • Lead efforts to maintain legal compliance and mitigate HR-related risks.
  • Provide guidance on labor strategy and support collective bargaining and other union-related matters across multiple locations.
  • Standardize and continuously improve HR policies, procedures, and systems to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
  • Partner with business leaders on headcount planning, restructures, and workforce planning.
  • Work with leadership to sustain a work culture that promotes transparency and employee engagement at all levels within the organization.
  • Ensure the organizational climate management within AMTP perimeter providing guidance and insights.
  • Guarantee the compliance with ArcelorMittal policies and practices by encouraging adherence to requirements, advising management on needed actions.
  • Ensure a favorable institutional image for the company, through business and social responsibility actions.
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as may be required.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience.
  • 5+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial plant environment.
  • Demonstrated success in a multi-site, matrixed organization.
  • Generalist knowledge of staffing, payroll, benefits, learning and development and other HR competencies.
  • Knowledge of U.S employment laws and HR best practices. Familiarity with Canadian and/or Mexican labor environment is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated success in building and delivering programs in a complex, multi-faceted, and ever-evolving business.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a matrixed, global organization, managing complex relationships across different teams and perimeters.
  • Ability to navigate and balance the HR needs of the company while ensuring alignment with the broader corporate objectives and strategies.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management, or related field.
  • MBA or professional certification(s) in human resources (CP, PHR, SCP, SPHR) preferred.

LANGUAGE

  • Fluent in English - good communication for discussion, presentation, and meetings preparation.
  • Spanish is a plus.

OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS

  • Location: Shelby, Ohio
  • Travel: Moderate (within North America)
  • Working conditions: office setting - Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads.
