Medical Surgical Oncology - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 22 months of Medical Surgical Oncology experience.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 6 months gap required between for Any Contract Type at Program: Aya Program - Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: - Med-Surg experience required. - MS/Tele. - Telemetry. - Interpretation of dysrhythmias. - Telemetry - on the unit monitoring. - Use of Rapid Response Teams. - Feeding tube care and management. - IV therapy/phlebotomy. - Blood product administration. - Central line blood draw. - Peripheral line care/management. - PICC line management. - Starting IVs.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - Hematology oncology experience preferred but not required.

Required Credentials: - Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Special Requests: - Cannot apply to any James Cancer Hospital & Research facilities if you have an active application to any of the Ohio State University facilities.

Unit Details: - Adult and geriatric patient population. - Patient population includes lymphoma, multiple myeloma, acute leukemias, chronic leukemias, sickle cell disease, other non-hematologic cancers, and other benign hematology. - Chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, oncologic emergencies including tumor lysis syndrome and cytokine release syndrome, insulin drips, and heparin drips. - Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls.

Shift & Scheduling: - Weekends - variable based on unit needs.

Floating Requirements: - Floating to other Med/Surg and Oncology units.
