Your impact

Communicate design ideas to clients and contractors using computer aided 3d design software. Perform building code analysis and documentation. Select materials, finishes and systems based on technical properties and aesthetic requirements. Present design ideas and alternatives to clients based on changing needs. prepare submittals for regulatory and permitting approval. Review shop drawings and details for construction for conformance with design intent. Determine impact of environmental, zoning and other regulations on site specific to design. Support Jacobs Architecture Subject Matter Experts in developing feasibility studies, concept designs, and masterplans. Prepare 3D visualization images to facilitate client decision making. Take design concepts and follow through with the necessary construction documentation, as well as coordinate with in-house engineering disciplines. Direct activities of workers engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents for the Conceptual Design Phase, Schematic Design Phase, and/or the Detailed Design Phase of a project. Provide mentorship and support to entry level architectural designers.

REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a master's degree or foreign equivalent in Architecture or related field and 2 years of work experience in the job offered or related Design Architecture occupation. As an alternative, employer will accept: a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Architecture or related field and 4 years of work experience in the job offered or related Design Architecture occupation.

SPECIFIC SKILLS: Expertise and knowledge of: Revit, Sketch-Up, and AutoCAD. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP): Understanding and ensuring compliance with GMP regulations is crucial for designing facilities that meet industry standards. Process Engineering: Proficiency in process engineering principles to optimize the design and layout of equipment and workflows within the facility. Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Engineering: Integration of MEP systems into the architectural design to ensure efficient and safe operation of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. Material and Personnel Flow Management: Designing efficient material and personnel flow to minimize contamination risks and optimize production efficiency. Sustainability Principles: Incorporating sustainable design practices to reduce environmental impact, such as energy and water consumption, emissions, and waste management. Construction Documentation and Specifications: Preparing detailed construction drawings and specifications (through the utilization of cutting-edge BIM modeling software) to guide the building process and ensure compliance with design requirements. Knowledge of Building Codes: Understanding and ability to interpret building codes adopted by an authority having jurisdiction and ability to implement such requirements into a proposed design.

The base salary range for this position is $80,787.00 to $121,500.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
