Responsibilities:

Elwyn seeks a Director of Residential Services to provide supervision and oversight to all group home residential programs including the hiring, scheduling and supervision of residential staff and the coordination of residential, treatment, vocational, psychosocial rehab and personal care services. Oversees the maintenance of clinical records and compliance with state regulations and CARF. Provides liaison with state employees. With other management staff, develops, implements and enforces health and safety, risk management, and asset management policies and procedures in the areas of agency facilities management including outpatient, residential, and consumer housing; transportation; and communications systems. Serves as a member of the senior professional services team, providing liaison to advisory councils, consumers and family members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schedules and supervises staff. Ensures that all staff understand and carry out individualized treatment within agency policy. Monitors and ensures program compliance with state and local Rules and Regulations and Fellowship Policies and Procedures for the management of the licensed group homes.
  • Ensures that treatment and care plans for consumers are developed collaboratively with the consumers and carried out as developed.
  • Ensure that the PRISM model is integrated into everyday practice and clinical interventions are being provided with each consumer.
  • Ensures that the environment is safe, clean and free from hazardous conditions that could adversely affect the quality of life for the consumers in the facility. Coordinates with the property owner/manager to ensure that all maintenance problems are reported and all repairs are made in a timely manner
  • Develops and maintains person centered treatment planning efforts in the licensed group homes
  • Insures that individual treatment team meetings occur in partnership with the consumer and their primary support group.
  • Works with the program staff to insure that the consumers have access to the least restrictive level
  • Establishes and implements liaison mechanisms among internal and external treatment units, providers and programs to enhance service offerings and maximize effectiveness, efficiency and financial stability of program offerings.
  • Establishes and maintains harmonious relations with internal and external customers, agencies and community organizations. Shows appreciation and respect for consumer’s needs, expectations and perspectives. Demonstrates behaviors that reflect an attitude of customer service, responsiveness, and concern.
  • Develops treatment protocol that provides empowering consumers to learn self-advocacy, self-determination and illness management and recovery protocols
  • Prepares and maintains timely, accurate, and complete records. Secures, consolidates, and records information on applicable forms, logs, and computer information systems.
  • Works with program staff to develop skills training, i.e. cooking, cleaning, laundry and personal hygiene, to assist consumers in improving their quality of life.
  • Monitors state certification and licensure standards compliance; prepares and participates in monitoring visits and the development of Corrective Action Plans.
  • Provides direct care to individuals, as required and as needed to fulfilling staffing requirements of the program.
  • Collects and analyzes service and outcome data and makes recommendations for performance improvement. Completes and submits narrative and statistical reports as required.
  • Serves as a resource to the Regional Director in the areas of clinical and administrative management.
  • Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned to him/her on an as needed basis.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Education

  • Master’s level clinician in human services field

Qualifications

  • Three to five years demonstrated ability to develop, implement and maintain effective programs for persons with severe and persistent mental illness and other disabilities in community-based settings.
  • Administrative and supervisory experience and a good command of the treatment, support and rehabilitation needs of adults who are experiencing mental health symptoms that impact their ability to live independently
  • The ability to assess and adjust the mix and intensity of services to meet the changing needs and goals of the consumers as they move toward recovery.
  • Demonstrates interest, skill and success in getting groups to learn to work together.
  • Takes responsibility for monitoring employees' performance, by setting clear goals and expectations, tracking progress against the goals, ensuring feedback, and addressing performance problems and issues promptly.
  • Delegate responsibility and to work with others and coach them to develop their capabilities.
  • Organizing one's own work activities and using personal time management techniques to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to achieve work objectives in a systematic, efficient, and timely manner.
  • Ability to expresses oneself clearly in conversations and interactions with others.
  • Comprehends and follows oral instructions.
  • Achieves work objectives under frequent pressures, deadlines, and productivity demands. Responds constructively to difficult situations on one's job of care available.
