Full-Time / DAY SHIFT
- The EPIC Programmer/Analyst provides programming and systems analysis support for a broad array of mainframe, midrange, client-server, and other automation projects as assigned.
- The position supports all areas of the project life cycle including: project definition, project estimation, systems design, computer programming, systems implementation, maintenance, upgrades, and documentation. Particular emphasis is placed on the implementation of integrated hospital/corporate computer systems.
- The individual will not have supervisory responsibility.
- The person receives assignments and works under close supervision of his/her immediate manager or senior-level team member.
- The EPIC Programmer/Analyst works as a team member in automation projects. Dimensions of project assignments range from simple stand-alone applications to large projects.
- The EPIC Programmer/Analyst is responsible for the processing and implementation of approved Information Technology (IT) Service Requests, both strategic and tactical, in a satisfactory and professional manner within a reasonable time period.
- The individual will respond to the software malfunctions of assigned systems, providing support and assistance to Operations and users to correct and avoid recurrence of production application problems.
- The position interacts with a wide variety of hospital/corporate personnel. The primary internal interaction is with operational end users of information systems and all other individuals within IT. External involvement with vendor personnel is sometimes required and may be under the guidance of project leadership or more senior information systems personnel.
- The position provides back-up assistance to other team members and shares knowledge/education with fellow team members.
- This position allows for the continued development of the employee's basic information system and business knowledge and skills.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Associate Degree w/2-4 years job experience & EPIC certification within 6 months of position required.
or
Bachelor Degree w/0-4 years job experience & EPIC certification within 6 months of position required.
IT area of study or related area required. Related areas of study include Nursing, Medical Technology, Radiology, Mathematics, Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Laboratory, Pharmacy, or Medicine.
Licensure: Not Applicable
Certification: Project Management Certification is encouraged
Experience: Requires knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of applications and good analytical and documentation skills

Competencies Required:
Specific Competencies:
- Provides an understanding of application/network/server/AS400/Mainframe etc. troubleshooting by the following:
o Know the application platform and database for each application supported
o Demonstrates the ability to use all appropriate tools (such as PCAnywhere, Proxy, etc.) to aid application issue resolution
o Know where and what to look for when monitoring the application on a server to verify a backup was done
- Demonstrates an understanding of Active Directory (AD) for applications that use AD for security
- Knows, understands and provides input to the Disaster Recovery plan for each application he/she supports
- Monitors Information Systems operating parameters for compliance guidelines
- Implements and maintains notification process/procedures for equipment failures and performance degrading situations
- Maintains service recovery procedures
