Make a meaningful impact in the lives of young children as a long-term substitute Special Education Teacher in an early childhood setting. This contract opportunity runs from August 24, 2026, to November 13, 2026, providing crucial support to a preschool caseload of 10-15 students. Located conveniently near Bedford, OH, you'll deliver instruction and interventions that foster growth, inclusion, and a foundation for lifelong learning—all within a single welcoming school building.
Qualifications:
- Valid dual certification in Early Childhood Education and Special Education (must meet state requirements)
- Experience working with pre-K aged children, particularly in special education environments
- Strong knowledge of early childhood pedagogy and best practices for special education
- Outstanding communication and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each child’s unique strengths and needs
- Utilize developmentally appropriate instructional strategies for pre-K learners with diverse abilities
- Collaborate with related service providers, teaching staff, and families to maximize student success
- Monitor and document student progress, adapting approaches as necessary
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment that encourages social and academic development
- Participate in school-based meetings as required
