Newscast Director
- Perform any production duties as assigned including:
- Direct and code any assigned newscasts and productions using our Ross, Overdrive and SAGA automation systems.
- Work with Producers on production of newscasts and special projects
- Work with remote production crew on sports telecasts. Duties may include directing, camera operation, replay, graphics or audio along with set up and tear down duties.
- Maintain production studio and control room
- Ensure studio equipment and production areas are organized, operation and cleans at the beginning of each shift.
- Work with management on maximizing quality of newscasts, production workflows and technical operations.
- Experience Directing newscasts.
- Knowledge of production standards and equipment
- Experience with broadcast automation systems and production control room operations.
- Ability to clearly give direction to crew while under pressure
- Able to remain calm and make quick decision during breaking news and severe weather coverage.
- Able to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours.
- Must be able to lift up to 40-pound lighting instruments
