Quality Control Manager

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control Manager to oversee and enhance our quality assurance processes across multiple construction and material production sites. This role is critical to maintaining our high standards and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Quality Standards:
Design and maintain quality control systems for asphalt, aggregate, concrete, and construction projects. Develop annual quality control plans.
- Supervise Quality Control Team:
Lead and mentor QC technicians and lab personnel across multiple locations. Coach, support, reward, and discipline employees as needed.
- Conduct Inspections and Audits:
Perform regular site inspections, material testing, and process audits to ensure compliance with internal and external standards. Ensure timely and proper equipment calibration.
- Collaborate with Project Teams:
Work closely with engineers, project personnel, plant managers, and clients to ensure quality expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
- Problem Solve:
Help resolve quality issues, troubleshoot, and provide recommendations.
- Manage Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, corrective actions, and compliance reports.
- Drive Continuous Improvement:
Identify areas for process improvement and lead initiatives to enhance product and service quality. Recruit and continue to grow workforce.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quality control within the construction or materials industry
- Be able to obtain ODOT level 2 & 3 Asphalt certifications as well as Level 1, 2, & 3 aggregate certifications.
- Strong knowledge of DOT standards, ASTM testing procedures, and QA/QC protocols
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites
Requirements:
- Must be able to travel to various locations.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends if necessary.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and ability to climb when needed.
