Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to support the fabrication of precision components for custom automation equipment. This role involves operating CNC and manual machines, interpreting engineering drawings, and working closely with engineers and assemblers to produce one-off and small-batch parts.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a Milltronics Vertical Machining Center (VMC)
• Operate manual milling machines and manual lathes.
• Machine parts from prints, sketches, or CAD drawings.
• Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for various materials
• Perform part inspection using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc.)
• Make adjustments to ensure parts meet tolerance and quality requirements
• Support prototype and custom, non-production machining work
• Maintain machines, tooling, and a clean, organized work area
• Collaborate with engineering and assembly teams to improve part design and manufacturability

Required Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC VMCs (Milltronics experience preferred)
• Strong background with manual mill and lathe operations
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T
• Experience machining common materials such as aluminum, steel, and stainless steel
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Ability to program using Mastercam
• Having own tools is a plus
