Staff Accountant

Position Type: Part-time (20-25hrs per week); Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00-4:30pm
Reports to: Controller
Pay Range: $25-$30 per hour

Job Summary
We are seeking a Staff Accountant to assist the Controller with the management of the fiscal department including financial reporting, oversight of financial transactions, and contract compliance duties.
Essential Job Functions

- Accurately review, code, and input accounts payable transactions for payment. Ensure transactions are properly approved, and in compliance with fiscal policies and vendor agreements.
- Processes project-related supportive services expenses and review invoices from outside vendors and partners.
- Maintains records of gas cards and bus tickets inventory.
- Reconciles credit card expenditures with the adequate back-up documentation.
- Monitors and reconciles petty cash funds.
- Assists with benefits administration activities (time sheets, leave reports, garnishment responses, medical, dental, vision, 401K, and FSA).
- Assists in payroll processing, review, and enters into accounting system.
- Compiles, sorts and file documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions.
- Monitor and order facilities supplies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in accounting/finance or a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a related field.
- Non-profit experience is helpful but not required.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, be flexible and dependable, and demonstrate initiative.
