Cardiothoracic Surgeon | Mercy Health |Toledo, OH

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join a well-established, high-volume cardiothoracic surgery program at St. Vincent Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center and tertiary referral hospital serving Northwest Ohio.

With more than 40 years of cardiothoracic surgical excellence , this program continues to grow and offers an incoming surgeon the opportunity to step into a robust referral base, advanced technology, and a collaborative, physician-led environment.

Program Highlights:

• Join 2 experienced full-time cardiothoracic surgeons

• 400+ total cases annually , including:

• 100 structural heart cases

• 30 ECMO cases per year

• Strong cardiology, ICU, and multidisciplinary support

• Opportunity to participate in program and service line growth

Clinical Practice:

• Full-spectrum adult cardiothoracic surgery including:

• CABG

• Valve repair and replacement

• Structural heart surgery

• Thoracic aortic aneurysm repair

• Surgical atrial fibrillation management

• ECMO and Impella 5.5/VAD experience preferred but not required.

• Pre- and postoperative care, including ICU and step-down management

• Weekly outpatient clinic for continuity of care

• 1:3 call rotation (approximately 10 days per month)

Candidate Qualifications:

• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery

• ACGME-accredited residency and fellowship training

• Strong interest in comprehensive cardiac surgery and critical care

• Experienced surgeons preferred; new graduates welcomed with appropriate training and references.

• Collaborative, team-oriented approach to patient care
