Technical service representative - automotive

As a Technical Service Representative , you will represent PPG onsite ensuring our Automotive Coatings customer satisfaction by providing outstanding customer service; focusing your concentration in Color and Appearance control to their specifications. You will participate in continuous improvement and problem resolution meetings with Plant Operations and Management. You will report to the Optima Solutions Manager and sit onsite at our customer site in Toledo, Ohio.

Training is provided for you.

Responsibilities

• Support the ongoing activities of PPG onsite at customer automotive production facilities and communicate logically with initiative to understand customer concerns, collect data, take appropriate actions, and resolve problems.
• Ensure accurate reporting to the Paint process team.
• Effectively communicate with PPG Technical and Account management, direction of the PPG on site team activity, and promote Health, Safety, and Environmental mentorship, making sure it is always followed.
• Providing resolution to customer inquiries, application process monitoring, mix-room supervision, consignment inventory, material ordering, and hands-on support as needed; followed by a written daily shift report.
• Follow safe work practices, with mechanical aptitude to communicate with technical, production and non-technical personnel to satisfy customer requirements.
  
  

Qualifications

• HS Diploma, GED, or Equivalent.
• 3+ yrs experience in Automotive Paint/Coatings - Such as paint mixing, application, spray booth, or similar experience in industrial or OEM paints and coating.
• Good computer skills and attention to detail
• Good communication and customer service skills
