We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Maintenance Intern to join our Garfield lot facility. This paid internship offers a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in the automotive industry and fleet operations within a nationally recognized repossession and asset recovery company. You will gain hands-on experience by working directly with a certified technician, who bring solid expertise in vehicle maintenance, fabrication, diagnostics, welding, and fleet management.
What You’ll Learn and Do:
- Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks (oil changes, battery checks, tire inspections, etc.)
- Learn diagnostic basics and safety procedures under the guidance of experienced technicians
- Help organize tools, supplies, and parts inventory
- Shadow the lot manager and maintenance staff to understand day-to-day operations
- Gain exposure to industry-specific technology and national fleet logistics
- Gain hands-on experience with light fabrication techniques and basic hydraulic systems used in equipment
What We’re Looking For:
- A student or recent graduate in Automotive Technology or a related program
- Interest in hands-on mechanical work and learning the ins and outs of fleet operations and vehicle maintenance
- Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols
- A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a team environment
- Ability to lift 25 lbs., stand for long periods of time, and work in an outdoor or shop environment
All Applicants Must Meet Every Qualification To Be Considered For This Internship:
- Must be at least 18 years of age and eligible to work in the United States.
- Ability to commit to the full duration of the internship
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a high school, trade program, or technical college in related field
- Reliable transportation
- Must pass an F.B.I background check
