in Valley City for a

2ND SHIFT Maintenance Technician

Must be able to train on 1st Shift for 4-6 weeks - 7:00am - 3:30pm.

2nd Shift: Monday – Friday 3:00pm – 11:30pm

$26-30/hr to start, depending on experience.

Temp to Hire – eligible for raise and benefits once hired on.

Must be willing to submit to a nationwide background check and a pre-employment drug test.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diverse duties. Duties include installation set up, troubleshooting repairs and equipment maintenance according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes at the plant to support the achievement of company goals and objectives.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Support Company’s Strategic Foundations

• Perform diverse duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant's equipment.

• Perform duties with technical skills, including but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and understanding of Quality systems.
• Ongoing identification of technical problems and the development of sound carefully thought-out solutions minimizing risk to the company and resulting in high quality results.
• Detect faulty operations, defective materials and report those, and any unusual situations to the proper supervision.
• Perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment and plant facility.

• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment and plant facility.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and repairs.
• Use problem solving skills to resolve and/or mitigate operational issues.
• Control downtime by working with production supervisors to perform routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitor compliance.
• Ensure operation of electrical equipment and components.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
• Provide input for purchase orders for parts and/or machines.
• Other duties as assigned.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

• Successful completion of monthly Preventive Maintenance on time.
• Machine down-time less than 4% of total machine hours continuously.

COMPETENCIES:

• Familiarity with the following type of equipment, controls, and systems:

• Hydraulics - coolant pumps, cooling towers, recirculation pumps, valves, manifolds, NPT fittings, hoses, filters, flow gauges/monitors, pressure gauges/monitors/switches, and heat sinks.
• Electrical - operator interfaces/panels, I/O devices such as switches/gauges/transducers/etc., transformers, capacitors, diodes, heating coils, high voltage service, service panels, breakers, disconnects, interlocks, lock-out & tag-out process, basic knowledge of national electrical code, and general safety practices.
• Pneumatics - compressors, air dryers, regulators, valves, air over hydraulics, NPT fittings, flow controls, etc.
