Job description

Under the direct supervision of the Head Food Service Technician, serves as the Food Service Technician for the Center providing a variety of kitchen duties, which require a range of skills and knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, food preparation guidelines, food storage/temperatures, and sanitation. Develops and maintains professional relationships with various food vendors.

Applicant must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid driver's license, and be able to pass a background check and drug screen. Must also have a high school diploma or equivalent, and basic computer skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepares and cooks meals each day (i.e. follows menu plans, locates and uses appropriate recipes, cuts and measures ingredients, etc.); assures breakfast and snack foods are available; supervises and assists in serving meals (i.e. sets up food serving line, controls portions served, etc.)
• Cleans kitchen after each meal (i.e. washes and sanitizes dishes, equipment, and utensils, puts dishes and utensils away after use, cleans foodservice areas, etc.)
• Assists Head Food Service Technician with ordering supplies and maintaining supply inventories; stores and rotates stock; ensures security of food service area.
• Assists Head Food Service Technician with maintaining records relating to food service operations (i.e. tracks number and costs of meals served each day; counts and balances lock box as needed).
• Must demonstrate regular and predictable attendance: attend in-service training; perform other related duties as required.
• Assists in ACA policy management and compliance.
• Serve as troubleshooter for kitchen equipment.
• Establishes, maintains, and updates records and/or other documents.
• Maintains ongoing relationships with food vendors/service providers.
• Performs other duties as required by the Head Food Service Technician.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $12.17 per hour
