School Transportation Supervisor -- Howland Local Schools

Reports To :

• Superintendent

Howland Local Schools is seeking a qualified and motivated School Transportation Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the district's transportation and safety as well as maintaining efficient transportation services for all students.

Position Summary :

• The School Transportation Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all aspects of student transportation, including bus routes, personnel, district vehicle maintenance coordination, and compliance with state and federal regulations and laws. This position works closely with district administration and reports directly to the Superintendent.

Key Responsibilities :

• Oversee all daily transportation operations, including routing and scheduling
• Supervise, train, and evaluate bus drivers and transportation staff
• Ensure compliance with Ohio Department of Education and state transportation regulations and laws
• Investigate and address transportation concerns, incidents, and complaints
• Coordinate bus maintenance, inspections, and safety programs
• Prepare reports, maintain accurate records, and manage departmental documentation
• Assist with budgeting and efficient use of transportation resources
• Communicate effectively and professionally with parents, staff, administrators, and community members
• Support student and staff safety and promote a positive transportation environment
• Requisition equipment and supplies

Qualifications :

• High school diploma required; formal education or experience in Transportation Supervision and safety preferred
• Knowledge of state and federal transportation laws and safety standards
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed
• Valid Ohio driver's license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain
• Successful completion of background checks and drug screening as required by law

Compensation :

• Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience and in accordance with district salary schedules.
