Department Summary

The department of Food and Nutrition Sciences within the College of Health Sciences and Professions seeks applications for course facilitators to support online sections of NUTR 1000, Introduction to Nutrition.

Position Profile

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:

Supports faculty by assisting in teaching, grading, and academic support to students in a specific subject area. Responsibilities may include leading discussion sections, grading coursework, conducting office hours, monitoring course activity, responding to student inquiries in a timely manner, collaborating with the instructor of record, providing feedback on assignments, and participating in regular instructional meetings.

Level Summary

Performs professional-level work that involves basic, operational problem-solving. Independently resolves day-to-day issues and executes clearly defined tasks. Provides data analysis and informational insights to support decision-making.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None; may assist with training student employees.

Fiscal Responsibilities

No budgetary responsibility. May be responsible for validating transactions.

Problem Solving

Solves routine problems with defined processes and guidance.

Independence of Action

Works under close supervision.

Communication and Collaboration

Collaborates with peers and follows guidance from supervisor.

Physical Requirements

Work is typically performed in an academic environment, requiring prolonged periods of sitting, computer use, and reading. Occasional walking and light lifting (up to 10 lbs.) may be necessary, along with frequent verbal communication and interaction with faculty and students.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and less than 3 years of related professional experience, or equivalent education and experience.
