Job Summary
This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient manufacturing environment by performing routine and specialized cleaning of plant equipment, floors, and facility areas. The role supports overall production efficiency and safety by ensuring compliance with cleanliness standards and housekeeping protocols.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

• Operate industrial cleaning equipment such as walk-behind sweepers and scrubbers to maintain plant floors.
• Perform routine floor care tasks including buffing, mopping, and cleaning a variety of floor surfaces in production areas.
• Complete industrial cleaning duties to keep production lines, equipment, and work areas clean and free from debris, oil, and other hazards.
• Remove and properly dispose of trash, filters, and scrap materials in accordance with plant procedures.
• Clean and wash production equipment and tools as scheduled or requested.
• Perform general facility upkeep, including light landscaping (e.g., weed removal, leaf blowing, snow removal).
• Support preventive housekeeping activities to reduce downtime and maintain a safe workplace.
• Use basic hand tools (e.g., socket wrenches, allen wrenches, grinders) to assist with cleaning or basic mechanical tasks.
• Perform light maintenance support and help with maintenance inventory as needed.
• Complete digital or paperwork orders and reports using basic computer systems or maintenance software.
• Follow all plant safety policies and procedures, including wearing required PPE and practicing safe work habits around heavy equipment and machinery.
• Work safely and effectively in industrial environments involving loud noise, moving machinery, and possible exposure to dust or chemicals.
• Collaborate with maintenance, production, and operations teams to support cleanliness and readiness of the facility.
• Occasional travel to other facilities or sites for training or support as needed

Qualifications

• Prior experience in industrial cleaning, janitorial work, or facility maintenance within a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred.
• Familiarity with industrial cleaning tools and methods, including floor care machines and chemical handling.
• Basic mechanical skills and ability to assist with simple equipment maintenance tasks.
• Comfortable working in physically demanding conditions: lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
• Understanding of and commitment to safety procedures in an industrial setting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleanliness standards in production-critical areas.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Forklift experience is a plus.
• Basic computer literacy; able to complete digital forms and learn maintenance management systems.
