The Bar Manager is responsible for leading all bar operations, delivering exceptional guest experiences, controlling costs, and building a strong, accountable team culture.

Leadership & Team Management

• Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise bartenders and bar support staff
• Set clear expectations for performance, professionalism, and hospitality
• Coach, motivate, and hold team members accountable to standards
• Lead by example during all shifts, especially peak business hours
• Conduct performance reviews and participate in disciplinary actions when needed

Operations & Guest Experience

• Ensure fast, friendly, and consistent service at all times
• Maintain high standards for cleanliness, organization, and presentation
• Resolve guest concerns professionally and promptly
• Monitor service flow to maximize efficiency and sales
• Maintain compliance with all alcohol service laws and company policies

Inventory, Cost Control & Ordering

• Manage liquor, beer, wine, and supply inventory
• Place accurate and timely orders to prevent shortages or overstock
• Control pour costs, waste, and theft
• Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile variances
• Implement systems to protect company assets

Financial & Sales Performance

• Drive bar revenue through upselling, promotions, and team training
• Meet or exceed labor and cost-of-goods targets
• Monitor daily sales, labor, and profitability metrics
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting
• Identify opportunities to improve margins

Systems, Policies & Compliance

• Enforce cash handling and POS procedures
• Ensure proper opening and closing procedures are followed
• Maintain health department and safety compliance
• Uphold company policies, standards, and brand image
• Support audits and internal controls

Event & Special Promotion Support

• Assist with planning and executing special events and promotions
• Coordinate bar operations for live music and high-volume events
• Ensure proper staffing and inventory for large crowds
• Collaborate with management on marketing initiatives

Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with General Manager and ownership
• Communicate staffing, inventory, and operational needs
• Participate in management meetings
• Provide regular updates on performance and challenges
