As a Technology Engineer within PNC's C&IB organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Strongsville, OH or Dallas, TX. The position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis.

As a Technology Engineer, you will play a key role in leading and governing enterprise-level Digital Identity development initiatives within an Agile development environment. This position involves designing and supporting Java-based applications utilizing Microservices architecture and RESTful APIs, while ensuring alignment with modern security standards and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

· Contribute to software development efforts across project lifecycles, including new development and maintenance of existing applications

· Collaborate with solution architects to design physical architectures and propose software solutions that address complex business challenges

· Partner with Agile project teams to assess feasibility of requirements and provide technical guidance

· Analyze implementation impacts and associated risks to ensure robust and scalable solutions

· Develop and maintain comprehensive technical and procedural documentation

· Review code, testing artifacts, and documentation produced by peers to ensure quality and consistency

· Support deployment activities across development, testing, and production environments

· Apply modern engineering principles, methodologies, and tools to enhance business capabilities

· Provide governance and oversight of solution design across development and engineering teams

· Continuously evaluate industry best practices and contribute to internal standards and frameworks

Technical Skills:

Backend Development:

· Java, C#, WebAPI, Microservices architecture

Frontend Development:

· Angular, React JS, JavaScript, HTML, CSS

Databases:

· SQL, Oracle, MongoDB

DevOps & CI/CD:

· Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines

Preferred Experience:

· Proven experience developing enterprise applications using Java and Core Java

· Expertise in building and maintaining Spring Boot microservices

· Familiarity with Java testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Mockito)

· Proficient in source control tools such as Git

· Experience with Apigee API management

· Knowledge of JWT tokens and OAuth authentication strategies

· Skilled in designing RESTful APIs and web services

· Experience implementing authentication and authorization services

· Strong understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines

  • Leverages technical knowledge and industry experience to design, build and maintain technology solutions. Assists with selecting appropriate platforms, integrates and configures solutions.

  • Develops software components and hardware for new and emerging technology projects; aligns these with business strategies and objectives.

  • May provide consultation on common issues and best practices for junior staff.

  • Provides a systematic analysis on client requirements within the traceability framework and resolves any functional problems encountered.

  • Ensures quality of project deliverables while maintaining compliance with relevant standards and processes.

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $55,000.00 - $132,250.00

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
